A video from the book launch featuring the poem “Hot Chocolate” at the beginning and the tittle piece “Dream In Colour” at around the 9 minute mark, and a likkle happy birthday cake as “brawta”.
“Dream In Colour”, aka “The Dream”, my first published book of poetry was launched on January 2, 2011 inside the Riverdale Immigrant Women’s Centre. It has been a looooooooooong time coming. An inspirational volume that somehow searched me out. The verses convey themes of togetherness and acceptance through natural and positive vibes. With a Jamaican glossary for those who don’t ovastan’.
“The Dream” is a story of inspiration, filled with inspiration.
I was merely guided through the steps on the way it’s completion.
Looking back I see that my fondness for writing dates back to the time of my immigration.
Childhood nostalgia and many kilometres of Toronto’s nature trails inspire poems like “Boat”, ”Dewdrops In The Morn”, and “Reflection”.
“The Dream” isn’t just about me. It is about all of us. The verses take readers on a self exploration.
A journey with to a place that really matters, the soul. If we break down the standards that society has set in place from before we were born. If we remove the images of perfection and imperfection.
If I had not put “The Dream” together. Then you probably would not know where to find that silver lining when faced with adverse situations.
If you hadn’t visited you would not have known the dream is also about you. A versatile volume of inspiration.
If you haven’t figured it out as yet, “The Dream” is about all who seek to find that burning passion.
Keep It Alive. Through the generations.

I’ve been reading your book and am thoroughly enjoying your poetry. I so ful-joyed “Contrast” that I had to share it with all my transplanted West Indian friends and contacts reachable by e-mail of course.
Keep up the good work, some of the lyrics you’ve penned is so deep!
